The peculiarity of the Posticchia Sabelli agricultural company is above all that of keep traditions strong and family origins without closing ourselves off to innovations; indeed, thanks to a careful study of the innovations in production and control processes, the centuries-old knowledge have been associated with new technologies, so as to satisfy all the demands of today’s consumers, both in terms of product and service.

In fact, the company has reduced its environmental impact by investing in the self-production of electricity from renewable sources, by installing a 500KW Biogas plantwhich allowed him to use only its own energy from renewable sources.

It is committed to carrying out interventions reduction of emissions using low carbon technologies.

Explaining the details to our editorial staff is Dr. Raffaele Di Ciommo, Partner responsible for production and sales of the dairy:

“Our biogas plant recovers all company wastewater.

Not only animal excrement but also wastewater from the dairy’s processing activities, such as washing water and so on.

All the company’s waste flows into this biogas plant where anaerobic fermentation takes place through which biogas is produced which powers cogenerators that produce electricity and hot water.

Both, of course, are used in the company.

Hot water is used to reduce the need for fossil (hydrocarbon) energy sources.

Electricity is partly sold.

So the company is more than self-sufficient regarding energy production.

We are also almost completing a 500 kW photovoltaic system.

The company’s impact on the environment is almost completely eliminated.

So, what comes out of the biogas plant is used to fertilize the land where we grow fodder for livestock.”
