MODICA (RG) – Protect legality and know the “culture of prevention”. This was the topic addressed a few days ago in Modica by the Ragusa Police Headquarters and by hundreds of students from the province. One more meeting, then, for the Police than at the Garibaldi theatre he once again spoke to the young people to close the cycle of initiatives that took place in various municipalities in the Hyblaean territory. The theme of prevention among young people was central: the police commissioner of Ragusa, Vincenzo Trombadore, in fact, reiterated the importance of involving the new generations on security issues and on what can really make a substantial contribution to that ‘participatory policing’ of which all citizens are an integral and active part. “Be all police in the exclusive interest of the community – said the commissioner during the meeting –. Being a team, institutions and citizens together.”
Commissioner Trombadore then thanked the mayors who attended “for their sensitivity and institutional closeness in cultural, social and sporting initiatives and in legality projects, with the provision of sports facilities and theaters for the implementation of activities on the subject prevention police. Security – added the commissioner – is culture, with social sporting integration and with the collection of the main values to be projected, by each institution, in the shared effectiveness, in the shared effectiveness of social utility”.
He participated in the conference also the prefect of the province of Ragusa, Giuseppe Ranieriwhich underlined the high positive value on the prevention front of the events organized by the police commissioner with school groups in the province.
The prefect also illustrated the commitment of the Prefecture and the other competent institutions and in particular of the provincial school office in supporting schools against dispersion. Also the first citizen of Modica, Maria Monisteri – in the dual role of mayor and president of the “Fondazione Teatro Garibaldi” -, thanked the commissioner for the exceptional effectiveness of the events organized with school groups also at the theatres, as moments of great cultural and pedagogical growth, as they are crucial in making students perceive the presence and closeness of the institutions.

Various institutions were present: representatives of the municipal administrations of Ragusa, Vittoria and Modica, the leaders of the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza, the Port Authority of Pozzallo, the local police and also the director of the provincial school office of Ragusa, Viviana Assenza, and the extraordinary commissioner of the ASP of Ragusa, Giuseppe Drago.
