Massa Marittima: prosthetic surgery activity restarts at the Sant’Andrea Hospital – Centritalia News

The prosthetic surgery activity has restarted at the Sant’Andrea hospital in Massa Marittima. An important result after two months of stoppage which gave the opportunity to reorganize the entire structure as best as possible. A substantial reorganization which concerned both the range of prostheses available (latest generation hypoallergenic prostheses were added) and the types of operations that can be carried out: shoulder arthroscopy, for example, is an operation that today – thanks to the new devices adopted – it is also possible to do this in the Massa Marittima facility. The resumption of activities is also an important step for all the patients who live in the province of Grosseto, by virtue of the Orthopedic Network set up in close synergy with the hospital professionals Mercy to optimize the response to citizens, both for traumatic and orthopedic pathologies with the consequent elimination of waiting lists. “We are very satisfied with the work that has led us to resume fundamental activities for patients – explains Pierfrancesco Perani, Director of the UOC Orthopedics and traumatology of Grosseto – The efficiency improvement of the entire structure has brought new equipment, starting with the operating beds useful for improving the comfort of patients in the operating room, new prostheses and instruments to also carry out shoulder arthroscopies, already carried out this week last. A great work by the medical and nursing team which allows us to raise the quality of care at Sant’Andrea di Massa Marittima and respond fairly to users for scheduled orthopedic pathologies throughout the province”.
