The Turin is looking for a new coach for next season. Among the candidates there is also Vincenzo Italiano. Here’s what he writes about it Tuttosport:
“Italiano has (basically) communicated this to Vagnati: I could only concretely consider your offer once Fiorentina’s season has ended and my situation has been carefully evaluated at 360 degrees. All the cards available, in short. A very courteous, respectful of Turin and its leaders, and not just diplomatic. But translated into journalistic language (and in reality) it becomes: if after the Conference final (29 May) the richest, most powerful and ambitious teams and/or in the Champions League ( from Napoli to Bologna and so on) will evaporate before Italiano’s eyes, then the Turin option, lower in level although still intriguing, could suddenly take off. But there is the risk that another major complication will arise for Turin. along the way, if Fiorentina wins the Conference or in any case wins the Europa League through the final placing in the championship, an automatic renewal until 2025 will automatically be triggered for the Italian. At that point Cairo would have to pay a penalty to Commisso in order to hope to free Italiano. And relations between Turin and Fiorentina have deteriorated greatly over the past couple of years, as is well known. Moral: continuing to chase Italiano appears to be chasing a mirage, rather than a dream.”
