TERAMO – The Teramo Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation against unknown persons, following the complaint presented by the Teramo Local Health Authority, for the recording of a private conversation, later disclosed by the deputy of the Democratic Party, Luciano D’Alfonsoformer president of the Region, with the general director, in the League, Maurice of Josiah.

The investigations are being conducted by the Financial Police who have interviewed several people.

An episode that had inflamed the electoral campaign of the regional elections, which then reconfirmed the center-right of Marcus Marsilioof Fdi, against the broad candidate of the Democratic Party, Luciano D’Amico.

The former president of the Region had targeted Di Giosia, for his “non-bias”, as a technician, during the electoral campaign, and after having sent a letter to all the ASL directors, he also organized a traveling rally, outside the headquarters of the Teramo ASL, with ten questions to submit to Di Giosia, in particular regarding some of the DG’s participation in centre-right electoral events. And he therefore held a rally, with megaphone wheelbarrows, also announced by the mysterious MP Giustinella from Roccacasaleto “safeguard the freedom of healthcare workers and the right to health protected from the bullying of the substandard Region”.

However, it was Di Giosia himself who announced the complaint in an official press release from the ASL.

Here are the salient passages: “I was the recipient of a phone call, lasting a few tens of seconds, from Senator D’Alfonso, then distributed, in circumstances that the investigating authority will be able to clarify, where crimes are being committed, to a number huge number of people, despite having to remain confidential as is appropriate for any correspondence”.

And he added, “to protect my reputation, I feel the need to clarify that the phone call, as happens with every short conversation, took place through a sort of overlapping of registers and communication contents: for my part, I wanted to immediately reassure the senator, proclaimed in the letter as guardian of legality, that I would not have taken (as I believe my colleagues have not taken) any initiative disrespectful of the law or with the vague inkling of participation in the political arena”.

And again, “my telephone statements, in the dense plot of a dialogue that lasted a few moments, however proved to be incongruent with the core of the message, woven with an allusive technique. After urging me to ‘stand out’, Senator D’Alfonso added: ‘I want to save Maurizio Di Giosia please… we can’t start from scratch, I want to safeguard your autonomy'”, Statements, Di Giosia commented that “I The exhortation ‘I recommend you’, repeated several times, devoid of object, seemed not to be in keeping with the legalistic ethics that inspired the letter of 28 February. Senator D’Alfonso, who has no role in regional health policy, expressed a saving will (‘I want to save Maurizio Di Giosia, we can’t start from scratch, I want to safeguard your autonomy’) which in the apparent ambivalence I must believe that I am inclined towards the prospect of future confirmation in my function even in the case of a change in the color of the region following the outcome of the electoral consultation, having regard to the close connection with the expression ‘I recommend’ repeated, without direct object, in the conversation for a long time five times.”

To express full solidarity with Di Giosia, it was also, as expected, the presidential candidate Marsilio, speaking of a general director “threatened, cajoled and subsequently subjected to the diffusion of a private conversation evidently aimed at undermining his reputation and honorability ”, accusing D’Alfonso of the “constant attempt to provoke brawls, to lower the level of confrontation, to pollute the wells of a civil electoral campaign with flat-out lies”.

D’Alfonso’s reply was not long in coming: “The president who is out of office talks a lot about threats and attacks, even evoking the intervention of the judges. I reassure him: I do not threaten or attack anyone, but I cannot remain silent in the face of irregularities of various kinds carried out by violating the institutions”.

And he added, “speaking of interventions by the judiciary, it would be appropriate to investigate the ‘non-construction site’ set up in front of the San Valentino ASL centre, which does not have the right paperwork for the scaffolding safety plan, and perhaps also on the one for the extension of the runway of the Abruzzo airport, which apparently remained deserted after the inauguration in spade magna”.
