Jingoldglobal kiwi specialist, a Macfrut he spoke about the project on the efficient use of water resources, the management of which affects the quality parameters of the fruit, with implications for the entire supply chain, up to the final consumer.

The project, called INNOVA.KIWI, funded by the EU under the Rural Development Program (PSR) 2014-2020, saw the involvement of the University of Bologna and the Canale Emiliano Romagnolo (CER): the results – which led to the creation of a guide for technicians and producers to better manage the water asset – were illustrated in the context of a dedicated conference.

The following participated in the work: Cristina Fabbroni, technical manager of Jingoldwho moderated the conference. Luigi Manfrini, professor at the University of Bologna and scientific director of INNOVA.KIWI, held a speech on the “Physiological characterization of Jintao and Jinyan cultivars subjected to different irrigation regimes”. Stefano Anconelli, director of the agronomic research and development area of ​​the Emiliano Romagnolo Canalexplained how the yellow-fleshed kiwi varieties subjected to different irrigation regimes responded from a production point of view, in quantitative-qualitative terms. Stefano Predieri, researcher at the National Research Council (CNR) of Bologna illustrated the results of sensory tests carried out on expert panelists, while Daniele Orazi of Intertek presented the results of a qualitative survey on consumer perceptions of sustainable water management.
