L’AQUILA – Sport, education but also culture, in full Csi style. This is the meaning of the L’Aquila City Territory sign, presented yesterday morning in the Commission room of Margherita Palace.
The event is organized by the Provincial Committee CSI L’Aquila and Sport & Event ASD APSin collaboration with local associations, with the VAS (Abruzzo Blood Volunteers), Kiwanis, Ase and thanks to the patronage and contribution of the Abruzzo Region, the Municipality of L’Aquila, the BCC Rome and DIGI Costruzioni srl.
The agenda of events, which started in L’Aquila last 13th April with the 3rd training course for cycle touring instructor and the BLSD (correct use of the defibrillator) and first aid course on 27th April will also see the third edition of “L’Aquila by bike” in a completely new guise.
A sporting and cultural walk – open to all – with delivery of a certificate of participation to the little ones and a t-shirt. The children together with their parents will leave Sunday 19 May at 9.30am from the Preturo take-off runway, towards the archaeological site of Amiternum where they will be welcomed Prof Alfonso Forgione from the University of L’Aquila who, together with our friends from ASD 99 Castelli and ASD Piccolo Tibet Adventure, will illustrate the history of Amiternum to all those present.
Upon return, a guided tour of the Parks Airport will be arranged, a Bike Park that will allow the very young to try skill courses, entertainment and completely free refreshment.
The key event will be the “Cycle Touring L’Aquila City Territory” organized thanks also to the collaboration of the Municipality of L’Aquila, Pizzoli, Barete, Scoppito, Usi Civici Forcella, Cagnano Amiterno and the fundamental availability of the Preturo Parks Airport . The consortium led by the expert CSI cycling guides and the new graduates, led by the Provincial Manager of CSI Ciclismo Fiorvisaggio Pellegrino, will also pass through the archaeological area of Amiternum, Big Bench (Valico del Cantero), Frazione di Preturo and Frazione di Sassa.
The training course will allow those enrolled, upon passing a final test, to obtain the National Diploma recognized by the CSI as a Sports Promotion Body recognized by CONI and registration in the National CSI Technical Register.
Sport is the absolute protagonist in this framework of events, to which is added the Conference on Sport and Family entitled Educate through Sport, scheduled in L’Aquila on May 15th at 10.30am, at the Sala Ipogea – Palazzo dell’Emiciclo. Testimonial of the L’Aquila Calcio Conference, Avezzano Rugby and Alessandra D’Ettorre, cycling champion.
The conference speakers will discuss the social and relational aspects of sport and the training and educational benefits that can influence young people. At the end of the conference, the award ceremony of the artistic-literary works entitled “Sport as fun and games” carried out by the students of the Patini Institute and the Mazzini Institute of L’Aquila.
At yesterday’s presentation also the Sport councilors of the Abruzzo Region, Dr. Mario Quaglieriand the Municipality of L’Aquila Dr. Vito Colonna. With them, as well as the President of CSI L’Aquila Dr. Luca Tarquinithe President of the Executive Committee “L’Aquila grows with Sport” was also there Dr. Francesco Bizzarrithe municipal councilor Livio Vittoriniand the provincial CSI Ecclesiastical Assistant Prof. Don Cristoforo Simula.
The reflections of the president of CSI L’Aquila are significant Luca Tarquini – “After the success of previous years, we are happy to return to proposing initiatives that are based on the meeting of teenagers and families struggling with sporting activity in a shared growth path. Sport unites young and old, educating through sport is the mission of the CSI in which we strongly believe. Our goal is to create a network between the associations present in the area by starting concrete and constructive dialogues in an area with high development potential.”
The Councillor Quaglieri commented: “Sport combined with the valorization of the territory is one of the programmatic objectives that my department sets itself. I am very happy to be able to contribute to the realization of such an important project full of events here in L’Aquila with the hope that others can also be developed”.
Satisfied too the Sports Councilor of the Municipality of L’Aquila Vito Colonna – “The initiative is yet another testimony of how sport can be combined with the cultural valorization of the territory – declares Colonna – with an important involvement of the city’s schools” – concludes the Sports Councilor.
