Reggio Emilia, 10 May 2024 – Meeting of the provincial committee for order and safety public, chaired by prefect Maria Rita Cocciufain view of the Ac/Dc concert scheduled for May 25th at the Campovolo Arenafor which 103 thousand spectators are expected, of which around six thousand will come from abroad.
They took part in the meeting the deputy mayor of Reggio, Alex Pratissoli, Province and police forces, road, railway and local police, firefighters, civil protection and local health authorities. There were representatives of 118 and the Red Cross for health aspects; RFI, Trenitalia and Tper for train management; the Mobility Agency, Anas, Autostrade per l’Italia, Autostrade del Brennero and Seta for profiles regarding inflow and outflow traffic; as well as the representatives of the Reggio airport, of the C. Volo company and, obviously, of the Barley Arts company, which organized the event.
During the meeting, which lasted almost three hours, they were all aspects of safety and security were reviewed of importance for the concert, intended not only as a show but as a great event: “Concerts like the one on May 25th – underlined the prefect – they reiterate, in continuity with last year’s initiatives, how Reggio is becoming attractive for artists of international standing and therefore entails a significant and profitable economic and socio-cultural impact; at the same time, attracting a notable influx of people to the city, they require a great organizational and management effort”.
To the organizers the prefect expressed sincere appreciation for providing several hundred tickets for people with disabilities. Then, “maximum attention must be paid to entry controls, also in light of the delicate international scenario and the possibility that the event could be used to carry out demonstration actions”. Great importance will be attributed to communication, both for spectators and residents, to whom the Municipality will give indications especially regarding changes to the road network. The technical table will meet shortly at the police station for the operational definition of the safety plan. The provincial commission for the supervision of public entertainment venues will be convened by the prefecture, aimed above all at examining the structural elements of the arena, as well as the territorial commission on explosive substances for the authorizations of fireworks.
