Naples, Trianon Viviani: the start of Teresa Salgueiro’s tour

The project of the famous Portuguese singer begins with the Solis string quartet: in the new concert “Canti naviganti” the Neapolitan song meets the Portuguese one

It leaves from Naples, from Trianon VivianiTomorrow Friday 10 Mayat 9pm, the new concert by Teresa Salgueirowith the Solis string quartetentitled “Sailing songs“.

The recital of the great Portuguese singer, who was the soloist of Madredeus for twenty years, is the fifth episode of “The world stops in Naples“, the review of theater of Neapolitan song with international artists who deal with the Neapolitan musical heritage.

The meeting between Teresa Salgueiro and the Neapolitan string quartet Solis, with the participation of the percussionist Rui Lobatotakes us to discover an artistic/musical itinerary between Naples and Lisbon, two world cities that reveal they have a lot in common.

The Neapolitan capital is a place of the soul that becomes a physical place, an ancient crossroads of cultures, where exchanges and meetings are intertwined like its alleys, giving life to fantastic stories told through music.

The Portuguese capital is the city with half-closed windows, where a light but insistent ocean wind blows, a land of great departures and as many returns, a place which, with fado, well tells the essence of a courageous people, of great intellects and navigators up to to the lands of hell.

The program offers some original compositions, born from the meeting between the singer and the string quartet, and then reviews the classic masterpieces of Neapolitan melody from the 16th to the 20th century, such as Passionate song of EA Mario, and of the Portuguese one, like fado Black boat by the poet David Mourão-Ferreira, brought to success by Amália Rodrigues.

The Solis string quartet is made up of violinists Vincenzo Di Donna And Luigi De Maiofrom the violist Gerardo Morrone and the cellist Antonio Di Francia.
