Ferrara returns to the capital of fantasy with the fourth edition of Fe.Fant

The program of the “Festival della Fantasia 2024” was presented in the Sala dell’Arengo of the municipal residence of Ferrara.

The meeting was attended by the Councilor for Budget, Commerce and Tourism of the Municipality of Ferrara, the director of the Enrico Zanotti Foundation Riccardo Benetti, the head of the school of the Fantasy Festival Villi Demaldè and Giorgio Irone, a university student.

Ferrara, the ancient capital of the Estense Duchy, returns to being the capital of fantasy from 16 to 19 May, thanks to the fourth edition of Fe.Fant, the Festival of Fantasy, a proposal to the city with the artistic direction of the poet Davide Rondoni and the collaboration of the Zanotti Foundation and the L’Umana Avventura Cultural Center.

FeFant dedicates this edition to Europe understood not as a geographical concept, but as a continent with a cultural identity. It is the culture that he built and continues to build this work that we call Europe, and culture is nothing other than what man expresses regarding the meaning of living. At the heart of European culture lies the irreducibility of the human person, of his life and freedom. Starting from this, within the Festival the themes that have human coexistence at the center will be addressed, that is, how the person spends himself in an attempt at construction within the various areas of society.

The artistic director Davide Rondoni states: “FeFant is growing. In a world where people without imagination wage wars and kill, we want to show that imagination – something only human beings have – is a resource for knowing and loving. And Ferrara is an ancient and new capital.” “As can be seen from the programme, this year’s festival is very rich. The proposal was born and developed through the collaboration between various subjects who took on a cultural challenge: to recover the theme of the nature of the human person as the foundation of the generation of a united Europe. Associations, schools, universities and international entities have created, together with the artistic director, an initiative that sees young people involved in the front row in planning, organizing and delving into the many ideas of the festival. This dynamic represents the heart of the Foundation’s mission, namely that of accompanying and introducing young people into active life, an objective which with the Festival of Fantasy becomes a real, experiential and visible opportunity, through dialogue with everyone”, says the director of the Zanotti Foundation Riccardo Benetti.
