It is not clear whether Deledda appreciated the performance of “Divina”, but there remains a letter in which the author, after having seen the film, wrote «Cenere is no longer the novel, now it is the film». The same Michela Murgiahas explained Angela Guisowas linked to the book and wrote a preface: she, who left behind many “soul children”, has dealt with a work that touches on this very theme.
