Final touches to the harvested garden of Santa Corona, recently returned to the citizens, e Friday morning at 9.45am it officially opens its doors Intertwining of Peace, where not only are thousands of bright pompom flowers blooming, but also the results of a long and passionate work that for months has involved an entire community, from children in nursery schools to the elderly in nursing homes, passing through young people of creative centers. All this only thanks to the coordination, availability, sensitivity and also the work of around sixty volunteers.

And why? Simply, so to speak, for Peace. The proceeds of the initiative – which offers, subject to free and informed bidding, a vast range of woolen products but also other rigorously handmade and Alpine-themed gadgets (but not only) – in fact, it will finance workshops on education for peace, non-violence, conflict management and equal opportunities for young and very young people in schools of Vicenza, in the next academic year.

Numerous, organised, as colorful as their pompoms, the volunteers of the association Like a spell – the same one that dressed Piazza dei Signori with a blanket, always beneficial, of colorful wool on the occasion of the Viva Vittoria operation -, which are the soul and arms of Intertwining of Peace, they planted, one by one, entire beds of wool flowers in the lawn and decorated every corner of the Santa Corona garden. Next to them too the young creatives of the Bizzart social cooperativewho gave a strong contribution in terms of multimedia but also with a collection of unique cards with the Alpine hat made from recycled fabrics.

Woe betide anyone who stops this army of Peace: tomorrow everything will be perfect for the inauguration and for the passage of over 400 thousand people expected in the city for the Gathering whose 2024 motto is The Alpini’s Dream of Peace.
