Another wonderful and well-deserved news for Ambra Sabatini! The 100 meter dash champion T63 at Tokyo 2020 will be, together with Luca Mazzone (three times Paralympic cycling gold between Rio 2016 and Tokyo), flag bearer of Italy at the opening ceremony of the Paralympics 2024, on August 28 in Paris. A choice made by the board of the Italian Paralympic Committee on the proposal of its president, Luca Pancalli.

Sabatini, born in Livorno on 19 January 2002, but raised in Porto Ferraio, in the province of Grosseto, will therefore sign one of the most beautiful chapters of her journey. An example of strength, courage and determination, all aspects also underlined by the president of CIP, Luca Pancalli.

“Ambra and Luca are two protagonists of Italian and world Paralympic sport who best represent a team with important ambitions and great talent. Ambra, very young, despite having only appeared on the international stage for a few years – goes on Pancanllishe is already one of the greatest paralympic athletics champions in history and represents not only the present but also the future of the paralympic movement, as well as an example of redemption for many young people.”

Ambra Sabatini’s words on the goal achieved

“I would like to thank President Pancalli and the Paralympic Committee board for believing in me. I will do my best to carry out this very important task as best as possible and to raise the tricolor once again. A big good luck to my Olympic colleagues and my fellow flag bearer. See you in Paris”
