PISA. From tomorrow, Friday 10th, to Sunday 12th May, the Stazione Leopolda in Pisa will welcome the fifteenth edition of BeeRiver. The thousand faces of craft beer will turn the spotlight on the many expressions of an effervescently expanding sector, between pure and simple gratification of the palate, festive socialization and cultural exploration.
Reasons
Created in 2016, BeeRiver has achieved an important position in the panorama of Italian events dedicated to craft beer.
In Italy the brewing sector has reached a level of widespread, solid and appreciated roots thanks to the quality of the ingredients and the influences of territorial traditions: BeeRiver intends to promote the attractive value of a product intended for careful and conscious consumption.
The event, organized by the Casa della Città Leopolda, is attended by established companies and emerging companies selected by a scientific committee. The program includes tastings, workshops and cultural insights. Two annual editions are planned, in May and October.
The breweries
Ten breweries will present a high-quality selection of Italian beer production. Tuscany will be represented by the Brùton Brewery of Lucca, the Forte Brewery of Pietrasanta and the new Mudita Brewery of Livorno.
Leaving the Grand Duchy, the Testadariete and De Lab Fermentazioni breweries of Diano d’Alba will arrive from Piedmont, Birra Gaia of Carate Brianza and Gimme More Craft Beer of Segrate from Lombardy, Batzen Bräu of Bolzano and Monpiër de Gherdëina of Ortisei from Trentino Alto Adige, Sicily, the Yblon Brewery in Ragusa.
Bread and side dishes
The external area of Leopolda will be dedicated to vintage food trucks which will offer a wide choice of gastronomic proposals to accompany the tastings of craft beers. Gao Street Food, Ginger Veg from Viareggio, Il Fagotto del Chianti from Castelfiorentino, Tati and potatoes from Biga, Roba da Matti from Empoli and the new truck from Pizzeria Chimenti will be present.
The blues concerts
The soundtrack of the new edition of BeeRiver will be offered by the blues and rock sound selected by the artistic director of the BluesRiver Festival, Lorenzo Marianelli. Tonight, Friday, at 9.30pm the Prisoners of Rock ‘n’ Roll will open the dance. Tomorrow, Saturday, at 9.30pm the spotlight will move to the Francesco Piu Trio. On Sunday at 9pm the day will be accompanied by a Funky Rock Indie DJ set.
