CASTELLAMMARE DI STABIA. There is a small church reduced to ruins and even used as a stable by a local farmer. This is the small temple that in Castellammare di Stabia was once a place of worship ofArchangel Saint Raphael – which in biblical tradition means “God healed” – on which the study of the students of the Liceo Plinio Seniore, artistic address. The restructuring proposal came from them as part of the project promoted by Regional School Management and dedicated to “The hidden treasures of Campania”and which saw them as protagonists in the discovery of the forgotten historical asset on Mount San Cataldoin front of medieval castle. The Church of the Archangel San Raffaele revealed, in the eyes of the Senior students, a preciousness revealing the ancient traditions of the city of Castellammare di Stabia, built in the 19th century but now reduced to abandonment.
The work of the students of Professor Antonio Sbrizzi, was illustrated during an event animated by images produced by students, who carried out a virtual reconstruction of the forgotten historical cultural asset. In their research, the students made use of historical information from the site liberoricercatore.it and in this way they described the peculiarities of the church, the essential nature of the place, the witty spatial solutions that once served to make the building a place of worship and which today should be recovered and returned to the people of Stabia and to tourism visits cultured and enterprising.
There professor Mariella Sicignano thanked the guests and extended a warm welcome to everyone.
They attended professor architect Amedeo La Nave, who spoke about the origins of the Art High School in Castellammare di Stabia. doctor Corrado Di Martino collaborator of Editorial team of Free Researcherwhich brought back to the students some traditions and historical curiosities of the city of Stabia.
