ANCONA – A Senegalese citizen was arrested for drugs. During the night, in the Piano area, the Flying Squads proceeded to check a car with two people on board, known to the operators to be frequent users of narcotic substances, who would have provided conflicting versions regarding their presence in that place and at late hour.
The officers, suspicious of the behavior of the two arrested men, pretended to move away and positioned themselves nearby, in a secluded and poorly lit spot, keeping an eye on them. After a very short time, the policemen only noticed the passenger getting out of the car and heading towards Piazza Ugo Bassi, talking on the phone. At the same time, in the distance, they noticed a non-EU citizen, later identified as a 38-year-old Senegalese, coming out of a building, wearing slippers, and phoning, with a cautious attitude, entering a vending machine room, leaving a glass of plastic.
Realizing the presence of the police, they moved away in opposite directions. While the policemen of one patrol managed to stop the non-EU citizen, the other patrol recovered the glass inside which they found a sachet of narcotic substance, such as cocaine. In the man’s house they found, in a rolled up sock, more “cocaine”, packaged in different wrappers, a precision scale, some scissors with the blades still dirty with residues of white powdery substance and other plastic sachets, just like the one found in the glass, a piece of narcotic substance such as Hashish weighing approximately 4 grams and more than a thousand euros consisting of more than 50 and 20 euro banknotes.
As far as was ascertained and found, the policemen took the Senegalese citizen to the Police Headquarters offices for the fulfillment of the case. After further investigations, the Senegalese citizen, burdened by a criminal record and police prejudice, was arrested, in consideration of the quantity of narcotic substance found, more than 16 grams of cocaine and 4 grams of hashish, material and objects useful for packaging of doses, the possession of cash, despite the man not working. The Judicial Authority ordered him to be detained at his home pending the very direct validation hearing which will take place tomorrow.
