Last Monday, around 5am, Santos, who lived with Baiguera, was found by some passers-by on the pavement in front of the pensioner’s home in Viale Cremona, in a suburban area of Pavia: he was unconscious, but still alive. The autopsy revealed that the main cause of death of the 36-year-old Dominican man was a cardiopulmonary infection. Baiguera was arrested by the police after reporting, in the interrogation, that he had hit his friend on the head and then dragged him out of the house. In the interrogation on Wednesday afternoon in prison, the pensioner gave a confusing account, demonstrating difficulty in understanding, unable to quantify how much time had passed since the event and not even identifying the place where he is currently located.
