The volume, published in January 2024, offers the reader a look at the territories governed by the Moncada in Sicily, between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, from Caltanissetta to the Etna and Madonie areas up to the Aretusea reality and then arriving towards the Girgenta/Saccense nucleus. Fiefdoms and cities represented the elements on which the exercise of power on the island was based and supported.

The Moncadas, dukes of Montalto, Bivona and princes of Paternò, as well as counts of Caltanissetta, Adernò, Augusta, Caltabellotta, Collesano and Sclafani, and lords of other lands, left the signs of their commission in works that still bear witness to this today the richness. Newly founded urban plants, castles, palaces, towers, monasteries, convents and places of production are both an expression of land management and evidence of the combination of architecture, art and political power aimed at giving the family influence in the Sicilian Parliament and the connotations of nobility urban.
