Gela, new approaches to the port breakwater. The prefect inaugurated the works this morning

The new berths at the breakwater of the island port were inaugurated this morning. The project, carried out by Eni, entrusted to Jacobs, is the last piece of the imposing renovation project of the harbor following the terrible sea storm of November 1991 which caused the ditching of two merchant ships and extensive damage to the port structure. The new roadbed, the moorings and the mooring structures built in the area of the dam, an outpost of the port bay a couple of miles from the coast and at a depth of 9 metres.
The new project will be explained in detail during a press conference scheduled shortly. The authorities, led by the prefect, Chiara Armenia, reached the dam on board boats made available by the Port Authority and the port services companies. Shortly afterwards, a small reception will be held in the Biorefinery hospitality area.
