Returning from Vinitaly 2024 in which Tenute Navarra had the opportunity to present two new products: Zahr and Rose Mosse, the Butera company is preparing to take part in two significant sector events: Sicilia en Primeur from 9 to 11 May in Cefalù , And Best Wine Stars from 18 to 20 May in Milan.
Tenute Navarra will also participate this year Sicily En Primeur from 9 to 11 May will be held in Cefalù. The 2024 edition celebrates the twenty-fifth anniversary of the foundation of Assovini and the twentieth since the first edition of Sicilia En Primeur, retracing the most salient stages of this association which today is the protagonist of the history of Sicilian viticulture and its revolution, thanks to the extraordinary vision of its founders and to the commitment of the successors and companies that in recent years have worked to promote Sicilian wine as a cultural ambassador in the world, enhancing the diversity of the Sicilian wine continent. Special attention will be paid to the prospects for the future of this sector, so much so that the theme chosen for this edition is “Cultivating the Future”, a topic very dear to the very young Sicilian team led by the two founders – Totò Navarra Senior and Totò Navarra Jr (grandfather and grandson).
Dfrom 18 to 20 May 2024, Instead, Navarra Estates will take part at the Best Wine Stars in Milan, in the exhibition area outlined under the name “silver”. On this occasion, the company will be present in Masterclasss Vertical conducted by Adua Villa lasting approximately 45 minutes during which it will be presented “Rosemosse”.
Rosemosse together with Zahr are the two new products that Tenute Navarra launched during the last Vinitaly. It is a sparkling wine and a sparkling wine that join the others from the Art, Premium and Fun lines whose names refer to family members or memories linked to Totò Senior’s childhood and the area in which the farm is located as Battichiè (Nero d’Avola Riserva Sicilia DOC), nursery rhyme, which Totò Navarra listened to his mother sing when he was a child; Sofien (Bianco Terre Siciliane PGI Grapes: Grillo – Chardonnay) dedicated to the last granddaughter of Totò Senior, or Maribu (Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG) born as a tribute to the place, combining the initials of Mazzarino, Riesi and Butera; Desiato (Frappato Sicilia DOC) which refers to Totò Senior’s desire to create an agricultural company in Sicily.
Zahr it is a sparkling white made from a blend of white grapes, with a bright straw yellow colour, on the nose it reveals a fruity and slightly herbaceous bouquet. Excellent freshness, with a light bubble and excellent drinkability. It carries out secondary fermentation with refermentation in an autoclave using the Charmat/Martinotti method. Rosemoves – the first sparkling wine vinified with the Charmat/Martinotti method, which allows us to preserve the fruity and delicate hints typical of this vine – born from a careful selection of our Frappato grapes harvested by hand within the last ten days of August. To the launch of this latest wine, Tenute Navarra has associated a special gift: rose-shaped brooches made with the Crochet technique, handmade by a Catania designer – Billonia – just eighteen years old, which she has made her own and reinterpreted in a contemporary key the art of crochet, increasingly trendy in recent years, especially among young people.

Furthermore, Tenute Navarra achieved great scores at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, The WineHunter Award “Rosso”, and 90, 91, and 93 points at the Falstaff Trophy Sizilien 2023, respectively with Maribu (Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG), Scurò (Nero d’ Avola Sicilia DOC), and Battichiè (Nero d’Avola Riserva Sicilia DOC). And again, the Gold medal with Maribu and Allucià and the Silver medal with Sofien al Concours International de Lyon 2024 and the Gold medal with Sofien al Frankfurt International Trophy 2024.
Tenute Navarra is also attentive to sustainability, not only environmental but social and governance aims to create a circular and virtuous economy that protects and enhances the territory and social relations.
