Mayor Tito d’Errico aims to compensate the environmental damage for the city of Acerra, following the final sentence that condemned the Pellini brothers.
In a letter sent to the Ministry of the Environment, d’Errico calls for immediate action, both administrative and judicial, to obtain compensation for the damage suffered by the territory due to the illegal disposal of toxic waste.
This request follows the resolutions of the city council of April 10, where the majority of councilors gave the mayor a mandate to take all necessary actions to obtain compensation.
Tomorrow, the mayor will deliver the letter to the Prefect of Naples during a working table dedicated to combating waste fires in the Land of Fires.
The municipal administration reiterates its commitment to protecting the city and its citizens, declaring itself ready to appeal to the TAR in the event of inertia or failure to comply on the part of the Ministry, which, as the only legitimized entity, has the responsibility to act for compensation of the public environmental damage.
Acerra’s request represents an act of strong responsibility towards the territory and the health of citizens, seriously compromised by the pollution caused by the illicit activities of the Pellini brothers.
