THE EAGLE. New line of investigation for the ASL. The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the capital has opened an investigation into a series of contracts awarded by the health authority in recent months. Under the lens of the judiciary, called to ascertain any anomalies or irregularities, are the tenders announced by the ASL for the maintenance of greenery, management of warehouses and inventory of movable assets.
The financiers of the Sulmona Company have notified the conclusion of the preliminary investigations against two officials of the ASL 1 Avezzano-Sulmona-L’Aquila and two economic operators, investigated for corruption and for disturbing the freedom of the procedure for choosing the contractor. The investigative activity, carried out by the Fiamme Gialle of Sulmona and coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office of L’Aquila, involved the assignments of some services outsourced by ASL 1 in the years from 2017 to 2021 and, specifically, the management services of the economic warehouse , management, maintenance and updating of the inventory of movable assets and maintenance of green areas, for an award amount of approximately 1.4 million euros.
According to the prosecution theory, in exchange for the awarding of the contracts, the company officials obtained Christmas gifts and other presents.
A company from Alto Sangro was involved in one of the contracts covered by the investigation. In the last period, at the disposal of the L’Aquila Prosecutor’s Office, the Carabinieri went to the offices of the Health Authority to acquire the entire documentation in order to reconstruct the procedural chain of the contracts under investigation. The investigators, in particular, want to delve deeper into the issue to verify whether or not any irregularities emerged during the assignment phase. In recent weeks, Finance and the Prosecutor’s Office have heard from some employees in this regard. (ada)
