L’Aquila, start of the Giro-E. A workshop on Sport, young people and inclusion


THE EAGLE – Saturday 11 May a particularly interesting day for all cycling enthusiasts and, more generally, sports enthusiasts. The Giro-E is scheduled to start from 11.00, a non-competitive e-bike experience that develops in n. 20 stages (from 04 to 26 May) and takes place on the days and on the roads of the Giro d’Italia. For the 2024 edition of the Giro E, ANCI promoted the creation of a Team led by Giorgio Rocca and made up of local administrators and ambassadors of the territory.

The participants of the ANCI Team for the Giro E Stage departing from L’Aquila will meet at the reception area set up at the Villa Comunale and will reach Piazza Duomo from where the departure is scheduled to reach Prati di Tivo. Only and exclusively pedal-assisted racing bicycles (e-road bikes), approved and with 250W motors for a maximum speed limited to 25 km/h, will be used.

The day will then include an interesting moment of in-depth study with a workshop on the topic at 12.10 pm in the hospitality area of ​​the Giro-E Green Fun Village. Sport, young people and inclusion, an initiative that is part of the broader ANCI program of support and financing of Italian municipalities from the National Youth Policy Fund.
