The Gambarina Ethnographic Museum in Alessandria it once again becomes the stage for the literary festival “Alexandrine Stories: one book, many lives”, a series of meetings dedicated to local authors who explore the many facets of human life through narrative. The next appointment is scheduled for Thursday 9 May, at 5.30 pm, where the book will be presented “Pavor Nocturnus” by Paolo Lenti.

This work, divided into three stories, paints a vivid and complex fresco of the nocturnal fears that torment human beings. Through the protagonists Giano Bellafonte, Zero Contini and an unnamed character, Lenti explores themes such as existential anguish, the desire for isolation and the search for meaning in an often dark and lonely world. Giano Bellafonte lives a seemingly perfect existence during the day, but is haunted by nightmares at night; Zero Contini, a fifty-year-old responsible for ancient books in a library, takes refuge in solitude to escape the complexities of society; while the man who looked at the sky, an anonymous everyman, tries to find beauty in the darkest moments of life.

Curated by Albino Neri and Mauro Remotti, the event is a collaboration between various cultural institutions in Alessandria, including Amici del Museo Etnografico Gambarina, Alessandria in Pista, the Circolo Culturale Marchesi del Monferrato and many others. These meetings not only offer a platform for local authors to present their works but also stimulate dialogue between readers and the literary community on issues that deeply touch the human condition.

The presentation of “Pavor Nocturnus” promises to be an immersive experience, where the audience will have the opportunity to confront their fears and hopes, reflecting on the complex dynamics of the human psyche. An unmissable event for literature lovers who seek to better understand the complexity of human emotions through narrative.
