«The game is now. Today it’s time to say whether we want some health functions and which ones». Massimo Gnocchimunicipal councilor of Gallarate Municipality Objectiverefers to the area and structures of Sant’Antonio Abate, to their future destination, with the Busto/Gallarate hospital on the horizon and the desired maintenance of health services on the hospital grounds by many.
OCG presented a motion to engage the mayor, Andrea Cassani1) a officially send to Asst Valle Olona and the Lombardy Region a copy of the proposals put forward by political and civic forces on the future of the existing hospital; 2) to officially request that the Asst and the Region take into account the direction indicated by the civic assembly, according to which the functions foreseen in the grounds of Sant’Antonio Abate should be “of a significant and prevalent public socio-health nature”, with “essential and outpatient” activities.
OCG refers to proposals formulated «…by Brothers of Italy, Forza Italia, centre-left, Centro Popolare and us». «It is a question – explains Gnocchi – of keeping faith with the intentions expressed, to maintain the largest number of services in Gallarate. Now the game is open onProgram Agreement for Gallarate (different and separate from that for the new hospital of Beata Giuliana), to avoid the “Legnano bis”». That is the long abandonment of an area that the new hospital would empty.
The study to evaluate what could usefully find a place in today’s hospital grounds was entrusted to Arexpo, the signature on the agreement dates back to early March. But the councilor explains the meaning of today’s initiative by going back further in time. «About a year ago, after a huge demonstration (see HERE), two different motions were presented in the city council. The minorities did not vote against it, they abstained because they found elements of interest in the text. Here too the need, for OCG, for an initiative that allows for resume and relaunch the indications formulated by political and civic forces. The motion should be included on the agenda of the next Council.
