Six workers were poisoned in the Palermo area during some maintenance work in a tank of a winery in Casteldaccia. According to what was announced, a worker was rescued by the firefighters shortly after the alarm, pulled out of the tank and intubated and transported to the resuscitation department of the Policlinico hospital in Palermo with the air ambulance.
Another worker would be in very serious conditions. There would be at least 5 victims so far, although the number of deceased people is not confirmed. According to what has been reconstructed, the 6 workers were trapped and later became intoxicated by the fumes. The 118 ambulances and fire brigade teams intervened on site. The police also arrived on site.
