A 76-year-old man is in hospital after an accident with his car: it happened in Frigento, in the province of Avellino. Carabinieri and firefighters on site.
A 76 year old man originally from Sturno, in Alta Irpinia, his car overturned in Frigento, the neighboring municipality. In the impact, the man driving was injured and was taken to the emergency room of the San Giuseppe Moscati hospital in Avellino. The Carabinieri of the Mirabella Eclano company and the Grottaminarda Fire Brigade are on site to investigate the case: in fact, the causes of the accident which occurred in the late afternoon today are still to be reconstructed.
The causes of the accident are not yet clear: however, the impact was particularly violent, with the car suffering damage to the windshield but also to the right side, which was particularly destroyed in the overturn. There would be no other cars involved: but the investigations by the Mirabella Eclano police they do not exclude any hypotheses at the moment. After the accident, firefighters from the Grottaminarda command arrived on site to extract the man from the sheets of metal. Entrusted to the 118 medical personnel who rushed to the scene, the 76-year-old originally from nearby Sturno was taken to the emergency room of the San Giuseppe Moscati hospital in Avellino, where he was entrusted to medical care: in the meantime, investigations continue to understand what happened, and it is not excluded that some video surveillance camera in the area may have recorded the whole thing.
