MONTE PORZIO A citizen of Mondolfo with an e-mail addressed to the Adriabus public transport company and the Adriatic Courierreports an unfortunate incident that allegedly occurred on Thursday 2 May on board a bus that left at 9am from Pincio of Fano in the direction of Pergola. The event would have taken place at the height of Monte Porzio.

The fact

It would be an attack against a black woman who was traveling with her child on her shoulders, by the driver and the bus conductor. «In particular – we read in the e-mail – the driver of the line should be noted as it was he who pushed the mother and railed against her together with the conductor with phrases of racial hatred which clearly recall the violation of the article penal 604 bis and article 3 of the Italian Constitution”. It is not clear what would have triggered the situation but it is easy to hypothesize that the woman did not have a ticket: «Adriabus – continues the e-mail – has no power to let off passengers without tickets but can only limit itself to fine the passenger if he has no ticket and no documents or refuses to show them; the police can be called in. The driver in question of the line in question and the conductor do not acquire any right to mistreatment in a violent and vulgar manner.”

According to the signalman, it would not be an isolated case: “Acts of arrogance and racial violence by controllers and drivers such as that of the line in question against immigrants and citizens of all colors will no longer be tolerated.”

The society

The director of Adriabus Massimo Benedetti, yesterday morning had not yet had the opportunity to read the report, but will check as soon as possible: «I hope it is not true, I really hope it is not so. I will try to understand and verify as soon as possible.” President Lara Ottaviani adds: «The email arrived this morning (yesterday) at 11.28 and therefore we have not yet been able to verify the report. We will do so as soon as possible to reconstruct the story as per normal practice. At the moment I can only say that our controllers are not authorized to let passengers off.”
