Free treatment for children suffering from asthma: Lamezia Terme joins World Asthma Day to offer specialized assistance and information to parents

LAMEZIA TERME (CZ), 4 MAY 2024 – Attention to the health of children is at the center of the initiative promoted by the Provincial Health Authority of Catanzaro, on the occasion of World Asthma Day. The Lamezia Terme hospital, led by Dr. M. Caloiero, joins the cause by offering free spirometry tests for children, as well as informative talks on asthma and pediatric allergology. The event will be held on May 7th from 9:00 to 17:00 at the new clinics on the third floor, Scala B.

Bronchial asthma is one of the most common chronic pathologies in childhood, affecting approximately one in 10 children in Western countries. Its implications go beyond just the field of health, also influencing health spending and causing school and work absences.

A joint initiative of 53 Pediatric Pneumology centers throughout Italy, the day offers a precious opportunity for families to deepen their understanding of this increasingly widespread pathology. Thanks to the collaboration of bodies such as SIMRI, the Italian Society of Paediatrics, AsmAllergia Bimbi Onlus, Federasma and Allergy Federation of Patients ODV, Breathe Together, parents can access specialized medical checks for their children at no cost.
