The competent authorities proceeded with the confiscation of two real estate units, namely an apartment and a warehouse, with a total commercial value of approximately 120 thousand euros, belonging to a 54-year-old individual resident in Crotone. This action was carried out by the State Police in compliance with a provision issued by the Prevention Measures Section of the Court of Catanzaro.

The confiscation is the direct result of an asset seizure decree issued in June 2020, on the proposal of the Crotone Police Commissioner, following detailed asset investigations conducted on the subject. This decision is based on the assumption of the social danger of the recipient, who has been convicted of serious crimes.

The 54-year-old was found guilty of participation in a mafia association, operating between 2004 and 2010 in the provinces of Crotone, Bologna and Reggio Emilia. Furthermore, he was also found guilty of violating the legislation on narcotic substances and property crimes.

This action by the police represents a further step in the fight against organized crime and confirms the institutions’ commitment to combating criminal phenomena that undermine the safety and well-being of the community.
