AND fixed at Saturday 4 May the penultimate appointment of Happy musican event organized by Apulia Felix Foundationwhich has animated the renovated for nine years Santa Chiara Auditorium, in the heart of Foggia. The artistic director Dino De Palma annually dedicates an evening to opera and this year the choice could only fall on a Puccini title, given the celebrations for the centenary of the death of the great Tuscan opera composer.

Author of masterpieces such as Turandot, Madama Butterfly, La Bohème, Giacomo Puccini he is one of the most beloved musicians of all time and one of the most representative composers between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

For this occasion the music and words event will be staged “Tosca – Sexual blackmail”, a musical tale in the depths of one of Puccini’s most complex and multifaceted works.

“God can write this music, and then I”. Giacomo Puccini himself wrote it, who was certainly not a man of half measures, after having composed Tosca, the opera which presents a woman with the impetus of the artist, the fragility of the lover, the strength of one who does not he can give up his body to the villain’s blackmail. A Puccini postcard painted in fiery red: the red of blood, passion, anger, hatred. The masterpiece of the composer from Lucca has the strength to be dramatically current, to shout in our faces the omnipotence that pollutes the soul of Scarpia, a man thirsty for power, the honor of the hero, Cavaradossi, who for a principle, in order not to betray a friend goes to the gallows, but above all Tosca’s strength to back down in the face of sexual blackmail, even at the cost of killing. The theme of violence against women, both physical and psychological, and that of gender equality are the fulcrum of the narrative engine in this work. All in a setting in which a romance like “Vissi d’arte” becomes the counterpart of violence: a prayer that slows down time and wards off evil.

The narrative voice of leads us through the plot of the story Gianna Frattainternationally renowned musician and conductor, who has conducted the title many times around the world, the voices of the soprano Maria Tomassian eclectic artist whose repertoire ranges from ancient music to opera, sacred, chamber and contemporary music, of the prodigious international tenor Michael Fischi-Spadaccini and the baritone Elia Fabbian, one of the most interesting baritones of his generation. To embellish everything, the piano notes of David Dellisanti, leading figure in the Italian and international music scene.

The show can be enjoyed with a subscription or ticket at a cost of 12 euros. Tickets can be purchased at the Santa Chiara auditorium on the day of the show (4 May) starting from 5.30pm. For further information: tel. 3929892331 – email: [email protected]
