Modica – The final match of the regular season ends goalless between Modica Calcio, sure of competing in the play offs, and Enna fresh from promotion to Serie D.

A fair draw in a match that had nothing to ask of the two contenders who achieved their goals early.

Before the kick-off there was an awards ceremony for Modica captain Ciccio Vindigni in his last appearance in the championship and who will hang up his boots at the end of the season.

The two teams enter the field with Modica honoring the winners of Group B of Eccellenza with the Passion of Honor

Enna got off to a better start and became dangerous in the 3rd minute with Cocimano (looking for a goal to overtake Luca Savasta at the top of the scoring charts) who shot from the line with the ball going wide.

The “Tigrotti” respond in the 11th minute when Parisi, on the right out, works a good ball and crosses low to the near post, where Famà, well placed, hits the ball badly which ends up wide.

In the 13th minute, Cacciola’s corner from the right, Trovato heads well from a few steps away, but Di Carlo is reactive and blocks.

In the 28th minute Parisi takes off on his own on the left, with a feint he sends his opponent to the bar and finds space for a diagonal shot which ends up just wide of Di Carlo.

In the 36th minute Cacciola’s long range shot which surprises Di Carlo, the ball hits first the crossbar and then the post and returns to the pitch amid protests from the rossoblù who were demanding a goal.

So we go to half-time with the two teams scoreless.

In the second half the pace of the game was rather slow with the two teams not discovering each other. The first opportunity arrives, in fact, in the 24th minute, when Cocimano takes advantage of the “veil” of one of his teammates to shoot from the edge with the ball deflected by a defender. Enna protests for an alleged handball, but the referee only awards the shot from the flag.

In the 31st minute Cocimano tries with a “placement” from 20 metres, but his shot crashes on the barrier, on the rebound Veneroso tries from the edge, but raises his aim too much.

In the 39th minute Cacciola tries again from afar, but misses the target.

Then at the kick-off Enna goes to greet the fans and flies to Serie D, while the rossoblù meet their supporters for the play-offs with the hope of reaching the yellow-green in the Fourth Series.
