During the course of the investigations, the interested party had already been subjected to house arrest for 3 years.
The State Police of Caserta arrested a 60-year-old, originally from Casal di Principe, in the province of Caserta, wanted for a definitive sentence. The Flying Squad tracked down the person and carried out the detention order, resulting in a sentence of 4 years in prison and disqualification from holding public offices for 5 years, for disrupting the freedom of auctions and corruption aggravated by the mafia method. The individual, with a history of fraud, receiving stolen goods and extortion, had been involved in an investigation aimed at discovering a system of corruption in the Municipality of Sant’Antimo, which involved the issuing of concessions and authorisations, as well as the awarding of contracts to favor of companies close to the “Puca”, “Verde” and “Ranucci” clans, in exchange for money. During the course of the investigations, the interested party had already been subjected to house arrest for 3 years. In execution of the imprisonment order, the condemned man was associated with the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
