Further step in the regional electronic ticketing project. In fact, the set up of the central devices, located at the Liguria Digitale server farm, has been completed, which constitute the brain that will control the entire functioning of the system, managing, in real time, all the transactions and data collected by the devices distributed throughout the territory . This is the first step of the implementation phase which sees the Temporary Grouping of Companies made up of Aep and Ticketing Solutions and Engineering, with the coordination of Liguria Digitale and the Liguria Region, directly involved in the four regional public transport companies involved in the project ( Amt for the basin of the province of Genoa, Tpl Linea for that of Savona, Atc for that of La Spezia and Rt for that of Imperia), for the installation and functional testing of the on-board and control systems which, as foreseen from the system architecture, they will dialogue with the regional control and monitoring structure.
At the same time, the installations of the devices on board the bus fleets of the transport companies in the Imperia (Riviera Trasporti) and La Spezia (Atc Esercizio) basins have begun and are expected to be completed in October. The first installations on board the vehicles operating in the urban and extra-urban basin of Genoa (Amt) and in the Savona basin (Tpl Linea) will begin in August and will end in the first half of next year.

“The assembly of the equipment and systems on the vehicle fleet represents a particularly delicate point in the entire process of implementing the electronic ticketing system – explains the regional transport councilor – in fact over 1,500 vehicles will have to be equipped, respecting a particularly tight timetable, with the constraint of not having a negative impact on the quality of the service provided to users. We expect that the regional electronic ticketing system will become fully operational during 2025: I would like to remind you that this project, started in 2016, has been on hold for years due to legal issues relating to the awarding of the tender”.
