A certain place for three in the next Serie D. Maybe even two. For one, in short, definitely not. For one, the dream of reaching the Italian football stage will be shattered tomorrow. The playoff final of Group A of Eccellenza is played: Bisceglie-Molfetta will be played with the single match formula on the “Ventura” lawn, with the kick-off scheduled for 4.30 pm. Whoever wins will join Ugento in the promotion play-off which will take place on Sunday 5 May on a neutral pitch. In case of a draw in the 90th minute, two extra periods will be played. If the balance were to remain, no penalties, but Bisceglie would be the ones to gain the pass for the final act of the season, at least as far as the regional segment is concerned. Field factor and two results out of three, therefore, available to the team coached by Pino Di Meo. Double privilege acquired at the end of the regular season: Bisceglie first in group A, with seven points ahead of Molfetta. The final was initially scheduled for last Sunday, but with the very real risk of playing it without an audience in the stands. Which, however, will be open regularly to the public and to both fans, including the visiting one, unlike what happened in the last derbies. Tomorrow’s game, there’s no point in hiding it, is right to consider it the most important match of the season for the Nerazzurri and Red and White. The direct play-off for the D, in fact, provides a sort of “buffer” for the defeated team to move up in category, i.e. the national playoffs. Those who lose tomorrow, however, don’t. One of the two will end the season. And he will have to give up the possibility of abandoning the main regional amateur championship. All in 90 minutes, in short. Or maybe 120.
