CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — No. 4 Syracuse goes for its second league title when it meets No. 3 Boston College in the championship game of the ACC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday, April 28. Opening draw in Charlotte is set for noon.

ORANGE UPDATE
Top seed Syracuse (14-4) advanced to Sunday’s championship game with a 19-4 victory against Virginia in the semifinals. The win improved the Orange’s record to 15-8 in ACC Tournament play. Syracuse is making its 10th appearance in the ACC Tournament and sixth in the championship game. The Orange won the 2015 ACC Championship, defeating North Carolina in OT in the title game.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College is the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament and defeated No. 2 seed Notre Dame, 9-7, in the semifinals. The Eagles enter Sunday’s game with a 15-3 record.

Rachel Clark leads Boston College in points (77) and goals (63). Mckenna Davis has a team-best 56 assists and ranks second in points with 72, while Emma LoPinto has 70 points on 47 goals and 23 assists.

Shea Dolce has started all 18 games in goal for Boston College. She has a .464 save percentage and an 8.17 goals-against average.


SERIES HISTORY

Sunday’s game marks the 30th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Boston College. The Orange have won 17 of the previous 29 contests between the squads.

The teams played 10 days ago in Chestnut Hill in the regular-season finale. The game featured eight ties and needed overtime to be decided. Syracuse led, 3-2, after the first quarter and 5-3 at halftime.

The Eagles scored the first three goals of the second half to regain the lead, but Syracuse responded with back-to-back goals to enter the fourth quarter with a 7-6 advantage.

The teams traded goals before Clark scored with 1:27 on the clock to tie the score and force overtime. The Orange won the draw to start OT, but Dolce stopped a Natalie Smith shot to give the Eagles possession. Cassidy Weeks took advantage and scored the game winner on an assist from LoPinto.
