The oldest woman in the province of Latina and the second supercentenarian in Lazio has died at the venerable age of 110. Vita Italia Di Liberto, born in Tunis on 1 January 1914, was a guest of the Villa Sihem residential community for the elderly in Aprilia, where she passed away on Friday evening.

Only a few months ago the three children, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and the municipal administration of Aprilia met to celebrate the remarkable milestone of 110 years.

Vita Italia was older than the province of Latina since the death of Antonia Manzi from Terracina, aged 112, in February. “She was part of our elderly family for many years and was the grandmother of all of us,” recalls Sihem Zrelli, owner of the retirement home. “She taught me to be strong in difficult moments and to keep smiling. With her ways she made me understand that life is a gift and you just have to enjoy it until the last minute”.

He currently occupied position number 17 in the national ranking of supercentenarians in Italy.
