BUSTO ARSIZIO – On the eve of the majority meeting which then destroyed the PUMS it was invoked as “Terminator”but now Francesco Enrico Speronithe former secretary of the League with a passion for traffic (and a well-known one aversion to one-way streets), becomes part of the restricted majority working group requested by mayor Emanuele Antonelli to try to “save” what we can of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan. There will also be with him Alberto Riva, former councilor for public works in the first Antonelli council and freshly returned to Forza Italia as a member of the provincial board.

The internal commission

Trying to recover the PUMS, modifying it (radically) on the basis of the critical issues that emerged in the majority, is the mission of this a sort of internal commission made up of two or three members chosen from each group centre-right councillor. As mentioned, the League is fielding the former secretary and former minister Francesco Enrico Speroni and the group leader Simone Orsiwhile Forza Italia dusts off the former councilor for public works Alberto Riva together with the group leader Orazio Tallarida and the youth manager Federico Radice. No external contribution however for Fratelli d’Italia, which brings the two city councilors into play Max Rogora And Paolo Geminianiand for the Antonelli List, which is focusing on the group leader Marco Lanza and on the advisors Matthew Sabba And Alex Gorletta. In short, outsiders aside, there are also all the main supporters of the plan proposed by the mobility councilor Salvatore Loschiavo.

“Make it or brake it”

On the other hand, one of the major opponents of the PUMS, the former councilor Max Rogora, explicitly declared: I was the first in the majority to say that I would not have voted for this PUMS, but also not to throw it away and to sit around a table to put together a plan that works for everyone. Said and done: now it will be interesting to understand what this working group will produce, and whether it will be able to rewrite the PUMS, “saving it” and bringing it to the city council, or if it ends up destroying it definitivelysending it into oblivion.
