AVELLINO Crotone comes out narrowly defeated in the “Partenio” match against Avellino, who with these three points reaches second place in the standings. Thus ended the regular phase of the Serie C championship, group C, for the Pythagoreans. Now Zauli’s boys, who finished ninth in the standings, will be forced to face the first match of the playoffs in a single challenge on the external pitch. The opponent of the moment will be Picerno, who finished sixth in the championship.
The race. First noteworthy action in the 19th minute with Gori serving D’Ausilio who enters the area and shoots with his right foot but a super D’Alterio denies him the joy of the goal and then it is Crialese who sweeps away. Crotone responds in the 32nd minute: cross from the left by D’Errico, with his right, with the attacker turning his head but the ball goes wide. In the 61st minute, beautiful action on the right by the sharks with Rispoli throwing Gomez deep who immediately puts it in the middle for Tumminello who was preceded by a whisker by Cancellotti. A minute later Gomez hurt his knee and was forced to leave the pitch. In the 73rd minute Tito puts it in the center, low, and Russo dives, sending the ball to the outside of the net. The turning point of the match came in the 82nd minute. Sgarbi ends up on the ground in the penalty area, the referee awards the penalty amid protests from the sharks. Patierno kicks and displaces D’Alterio for 1-0. The match has nothing else to say.
