The elections for the renewal of social positions took place on Saturday 20 April at the national headquarters of UNITRE in Turin. The professor. Carlo Rovera was confirmed as National President of the UNITRE association, while the president of the local branch Giuseppe Ancona was elected National Councilor, and together with his colleague from Modica Enzo Cavallo they will represent Sicily for the three-year period 2024-2027.

“Upon designation by the management of the Castelvetrano Unitre, whom I thank from now on, I am a candidate to ensure that our Castelvetrano once again rises to the headlines, not for criminal events, but for cultural events and also to make our office grow more and more – the principal Giuseppe Ancona told our microphones -. The task is as prestigious as it is onerous and our commitment is to ensure that all 35 Sicilian offices with their 3,000 members are coordinated and connected with the national presidency which with its 70,000 members represents one of the most interesting associations that deal mainly with making their members and their families feel good with a view to lifelong education, active aging and to complement the own self-realization.

Ours – concludes Ancona – is a social promotion association (APS) registered in the third sector which carries out its activities, on a non-profit basis, for the pursuit of civic, solidarity and social utility purposes, making prevalent use of the activity of volunteering of its Members. I am grateful to those who believed in me and allowed me to reach this prestigious goal. The new National Council is made up of 35 members representing all the regions of Italy and having managed to gain the trust of colleagues from other regions as well as those of our Sicily makes me even more proud.”
