«We have a municipality in disarray»

ORTE – «The budget approved by the Primieri majority is devoid of innovation and planning. There is a lack of a development idea and there is also a lack of funds to complete what was promised in the election campaign.” This was said in a note by the council council group “Noi con Orte Futura” and the civic group “Direzione Domani”. «Failure regarding the reopening of Alberini is publicly admitted – they explain -. The same failure also applies to sports facilities. They are still in pitiful conditions and the Municipality of Orte is among the few in the province not to have managed to obtain financing to improve the sporting offer. Furthermore, the budget lacks resources for social services. The assistance provided to the citizens of Orta is inadequate – the opposition continues – and the integration programs for the many immigrants are totally absent, especially in the Orte Scalo area. Precisely in Orte Scalo there is a greater need to invest in safety and decorum. We need to invest in that neighborhood, while we have the impression that it has now been abandoned by the administration (consequently fewer and fewer citizens frequent it).”

But it doesn’t end there: «There is also a lack of funds for the relaunch of the historic center (a circumstance we have denounced several times)», denounces the opposition. «No idea of tourist development and little or nothing on urban decorum. This year there will be no intervention on the paving, without considering the dilapidated conditions of the car park (with cars often subject to acts of vandalism). The waste contract is also late and, by the competent councilor’s own admission, there are no funds to achieve what was promised. Result: we will almost certainly have a service similar to the current one but higher prices, the citizens pay for it. And to think that the majority had always criticized the current collection system. In short – they conclude – we have a Municipality in disarray with administrators who are unable to influence the development of the city. For us this administrative experience is inadequate and we hope that it will end soon.”
