With a statement that arrived a few minutes ago, theEBU announced that the press conference of the countries already finalists in theEurovision 2024scheduled for 6.30pm today, will not take place.
Yet another event out of the ordinary on a frenetic pre-final Friday in Malmö. The day was marked by chance Joost Klein, which opened in the last few hours. The Dutch artist competing with “Europapa”, who was supposed to sing in the general rehearsals held this afternoon, did not go on stage.
The reason for the absence is still shrouded in mystery, with theEBU busy as we write to you investigating an alleged incident that occurred backstage (while she communicated her position on the Italian televoting affair).

Please note that the Big 5 & Sweden press conference, originally scheduled for 6.30pm, has been canceled because all artists want to focus on rehearsals.

The cancellation of the Big 5 conference and the host country of theEurovision 2024 it is officially due to the artists’ desire to remain focused while waiting for tonight’s crucial test (not broadcast on TV), which will see the juries busy drawing up the ranking which will be revealed to the public at home tomorrow.
However, it is reasonable to think that, due to the growing tensions in the last few hours, theEBU prefer to avoid meetings with the press at the moment. The conference would most likely have been an opportunity to ask the organizers uncomfortable questions to which, at the moment, it is not possible to give answers.
