almost 3 million on Rai 2

Listen with a bang to those recorded in the second semi-final of theEurovision 2024. Live on Rai 2 They were 2,817,000 viewers glued in front of the TV for a share of the 13.9%. And despite strong competition and a Europa League match.

Peaks of over 19% share were recorded which brought Rai 2 over 4 million viewers.

This is a record audience, because never before had a Eurovision semi-final achieved so much success in Italy, naturally excluding the 2022 edition held in Turin.

For comparison, last year there were 1,702,000 viewers for a share of 8.3%. In that case, however, Italy did not televote in the second semi-final.

Yesterday evening was busy, come on Rai 1from Bayer Leverkusen-Roma of the Europa League, which obtained 3,917,000 spectators for an 18.8% share.

On Channel 5, however, there was the second episode of “Viola come il Mare 2”, which gathered 2,515,000 spectators in front of the screen for a 14% share (but here the broadcast ended later). Yesterday evening the final of Beijing Express on SkyUno (468,000 viewers and 2.4% share), information programs on LA7 (829,000) e Network 4 (1,014,000) and 833,000 spectators for the film broadcast by Italy 1 (Mission:Impossible Fallout).

The special preview, with Gabriele Corsi And Mara Maionchiwhich aired before TG2 between 8.14pm and 8.30pm, was followed by 549,000 viewers and 2.9% share.

Eurovision 2024: historical data

As mentioned, in numbers and share, this becomes the most watched semi-final ever for Rai 2 (full history here). A figure, that of last night, which confirms what we had written post Eurovision 2023, namely that Rai could have dared a little more by continuing to broadcast the semi-finals on Rai 1. And apparently the numbers speak for themselves.

All that remains, therefore, is to make an appointment for the final scheduled for tomorrow at 9pm on Rai 1, to follow the final and cheer for Angelina Mango!
