Amadeus and Jovanotti for Fiorello’s farewell to Rai

Long live Rai2! he reached his conclusion. Tomorrow, May 10, will be the last episode of a format that lasted two seasons which filled the morning slot of Rai2, achieving ratings never achieved at that time by public television. As is known, the guests of the final episode will be Amadeus and Jovanotti. For the former, it will be the last live appearance on Rai, considering that Affari Tuoi is a recorded program that will be broadcast until June 1st. For Jovanotti it will be a great return, after having inaugurated the format in the first episode, giving the opening theme.

Tomorrow will therefore be the day of the big farewell of a couple who have excelled in the last five years: Amadeus and Rosario Fiorello. This morning, the entertainer admitted: “There’s a bit of sadness in the air, it was truly a beautiful, surreal adventure.” Orietta Berti should also be present tomorrow to present, with Fiorello, the song “Una Vespa in Due” born from the jingle “All it takes is a flower and the good mood starts again.” The song, written by Fiorello with Daniele Lazzarin, was supposed to be launched on Friday 17 May but was exceptionally brought forward to 10 May precisely in view of the last episode of the morning format.

What will happen in the future? We do not know. What is certain is that Fiorello with Viva Rai2!, accompanied by the entire team (from Fabrizio Biggio to Mauro Casciari, to the dance troupe directed by Luca Tommassini), contributed to profoundly changing the morning time slot, demonstrating that he is able to give a fresh show, different every day, able to follow current events and, in some cases, to dictate the agenda of the world of entertainment and politics. Two unforgettable seasons that revolutionized the balance of Italian television. These times will be missed. The future, moreover, is uncertain if not critical.

The end of Viva Rai2! it definitively coincides with a gap to be filled not only in the morning programming, but also in Rai’s entertainment which will start again with names who have made an excellent apprenticeship in recent years (Stefano De Martino above all). We must try, at all levels, to overcome ideologies and prejudices, giving faith in the new thing to come. Everyone is important, no one is indispensable. It’s an adage that can work for everyone, except for Fiorello.
