Harry will leave London tomorrow (heading to Nigeria, where he will reunite with his wife Meghan) and will not have met his father: not even five minutes, face to face, to talk to him who has been undergoing treatment for cancer since February. The Palace let him know that the king has too busy a schedule and does not have space to receive him.
Thus, yet another chapter of the feud within the British Royal Family took place before the eyes of the subjects. King Charles is too busy with his commitments to be able to see and meet his son who has chosen to leave the ‘Firm’, the family-business, in order to follow his American wife across the Atlantic. Today he spent the afternoon in the guardrooms of the Royal Palace, together with his wife, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
The monarch, who is being treated for an unspecified cancer, took off his black hat to listen to the national anthem, at the end of which the crowd applauded loudly; then he went down the steps and mingled to chat with the guests. A “double whammy”, which Harry had to endure on his trip to the United Kingdom: as royal expert Tom Bower comments to GB News, the failure to meet between father and son meant that a family-viaticum photo was not taken for Harry’s next trip to Nigeria, he could use that image to somehow ‘pass’ himself as a representative of the visiting royal family.
Tomorrow, the king will visit a British army engineering school in the south of England: another of the commitments on his public agenda which he resumed on April 30, after having canceled his activities for three months following his illness.
This appointment of his precedes another, again of a military nature, which will take place on May 13, when he will transfer the position of Colonel-in-Chief of the Air Force to his eldest son and heir to the throne, Prince William, at the aeronautical center of Middle Wallop, in the county of Hampshire. The malicious people point out that the announcement of this new honor bestowed on his eldest son was made just minutes after the Palace announced that Charles had no time for Harry. What is certain is that what accentuates the distances between father and son is the fact that among the dignitaries present at the service of the Invictus Games there was Earl Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother. In the few hours that he will remain in London, Harry is not expected to see even his brother, who this morning attended a ceremony at Windsor Castle. William continues to balance work with caring for his three children while his wife Kate undergoes preventative chemotherapy for cancer and recovers from major abdominal surgery in January. Harry, after the countless attacks, still remains very distant from the Royal Family.
