The theft of Fabio Rovazzi’s cell phone during an Instagram live broadcast in the center of Milan? It immediately went viral, it actually was a ‘fake’, a publicity stunt to launch ‘Maranza‘, the new song created with Il Pagante, out from May 15th on all digital platforms and in radio rotation from May 17th.
The video immediately made the rounds on the web and social media but some fans had raised some doubts about whether it was true. “I wanted to reassure you – says Rovazzi in a video published on Instagram – we did all this because Maranza comes out tomorrow at midnight”.
In the song, with a mix of provocation and fun, against the backdrop of the Madonnina, Il Pagante, a Milanese duo composed of Roberta Branchini and Eddy Veerus, and Rovazzi immortalize the very faithful and irreverent portrait of the ‘Maranza’ (or ‘tamarro’ or ‘zarro’ ), displaying note after note the aesthetic and behavioral codes of what, as a purely Milanese phenomenon, has gone beyond the borders of the city to arrive everywhere with designer bags, valuable watches, acetate suits, necklaces in plain sight and drills in headphones .
