Hyundai: Bluelink online services are growing

DEDICATED COMPANY – The Korean company has announced the creation of a company dedicated to digital services, called Hyundai Connected Mobility. This will deal with many increasingly relevant aspects: mobility (including forms of rental with 100% online procedures) and the provision of online on-board services. Regarding this last aspect, it was announced that the online services of multimedia systems will change their delivery methods. Today, “connected” Hyundais (i.e. with a multimedia system capable of receiving OTA updates, i.e. directly from the web) enjoy three years Of Bluelink services while for the others, which have fewer features, we move on to five years.

TWO PAID OFFERS – In the future (when it has not been announced but it should be a few months), all new Hyundais will receive well 10 years of free Bluelink Light services (navigation that takes real-time traffic into account, advanced voice commands and little else) while for ancillary services the plan must be activated Bluelink+, which includes remote car management and more. Prices have already been announced for this second package: 2.99 euros per monthwhich go to 9.99 if you also want audio/video streaming.

SERVICES ON THE INCREASE – Furthermore, in the future, the offer is destined to grow: they are being studied payment services And reservation of parking spaces and new functions that could also be linked to geolocation: in practice, when the car is in a certain area it can show the driver nearby events or discounts and offers linked to local companies. Furthermore, Hyundai will also allow third-party developers to propose functions that interact with on-board systems. All these innovations were exposed in a digital conference, in which the Korean company was clear in not wanting to follow other manufacturers in choosing to enable paid hardware already present in the car (as BMW has done in the past for example in certain markets, where it allowed you to activate heated seats and other things only upon signing up for a subscription).
