Fisker, more problems. Failure is ever closer

More negative signs for Fisker who for several months has been struggling with financial problems that are seriously undermining his future. The American automaker has tried to find financiers, there had been rumors in the past that Nissan would allow it to move forward but the attempts have failed, at least for the moment. To try to find new liquidity in every way, the company had also cut the prices of its Ocean electric SUV, with discounts of up to 24 thousand dollars.

PRODUCTION SUSPENDED

Now comes something new that certainly doesn’t represent a good sign for Fisker’s future. Indeed, Magna Internationalthe company that produces Fisker cars, spoke about the situation of the American car manufacturer when presenting the latest quarterly data.

Magna said production of the electric SUV it is still stopped. As we know, Fisker announced a 6-week production stop towards the end of March. Production which, however, never restarted. Indeed, according to what Magna says, “it is assumed that there will be no further production“. Swamy KotagiriCEO of Magna International, commented:

It is important that I provide an update on our current status for the Fisker Ocean program. Vehicle production is currently inactive. Our current forecast released today assumes no further production.

Fisker has not released an official communication on the matter but the fact that Magna has declared that it is assumed that production will not continue makes it clear the difficult situation in which the American car manufacturer finds itself.

On top of all this, Business Insider adds that Fisker would start close the offices of its headquarters in Manhattan Beach (California). According to what was reported, the employees would have been transferred to the company headquarters in La Palma (also in California). The two facilities are about 40 miles apart. The La Palma site was initially conceived as a center for research and development.

The future? Fisker is looking for solutions to continue its activities and some negotiations are still ongoing. However, at the end of April, the company sent employees a communication that if the situation does not change, the activities could cease within two months.
