I got it in mid-February and on average I travel short distances on it 80km, but I also made some trips 250km each way. They really surprised me the consumption with discharged batteries and the ability to recover energy during the trip. Attached is the April report downloaded from the application, where you can see the average consumption of suns for the month 2.4L/km (in March it was even lower). But the surprising thing is that with flat batteries, on the return journey covering about 250km mostly on the motorway 130 – 140 km/h I traveled about 25% of the journey in electric. With an average consumption of 5.8L/100km. While on a journey of 100km on the outward journey and 100km on the return journey for a total of 200km, half of which is on the motorway and the rest on the provincial road, he travels about 130km on electric. For the 225e xDrive, in particular, BMW declares a mileage in electric only up to 90 km. Which is obviously more than enough for the daily movements of many Italians. It is no coincidence that, in a country still wary of pure electric, plug-in hybrids sell a little more than EVs (18,897 versus 16,609 in the first 4 months of 2024). And it’s certainly not a question of price, given that even plug-ins are expensive (this BMW 225 eXDrive starts from 47,850 euros).
