Cultural heritage images: a shared legacy? The presentation of the volume on Wednesday 22 May
ROME – Wednesday 22 May at 5pmat the Tenerani Hall of the Museum of Rome at Palazzo Braschithe presentation of the volume will be held “Images of cultural heritage. A shared legacy?“, edited by Daniele Manacorda and Mirco Modolo. The event, included in the review “Books at the Museum”, promoted by Roma Capitale – Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritagei, is an opportunity to delve deeper into a highly topical topic: the legal regime of images of cultural heritage.
An open debate
At the center of the volume, which collects the proceedings of the conference of the same name held in Florence in June 2022, crucial questions arise: does it make sense, in the digital age, to place limits on the dissemination of images of public cultural heritage? How can the free use of this intangible asset be reconciled with its protection and valorization?
In the first part of the volume, jurists, economists, representatives of the university, the ministry and associations are called to deal with this theme, while the second part collects experiences drawn from cultural entrepreneurship and public and private cultural institutes.
Expert interventions
During the meeting, moderated by Ilaria Miarelli Mariani (Director of the Civic Museums Directorate of the Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage) speakers: Riccardo Naldi (University of Naples l’Orientale), Serena Quagliaroli (University of Turin), Roberto Balzani (University of Bologna). The curators will be present of the volume.
